SURROGACY IN FLORIDA

Surrogacy laws differ from state to state. For example, some states prohibit surrogacy contracts while other states permit surrogacies for all parents and even name the intended parents on the birth certificate. In Florida, surrogacy is legal, however, the laws are somewhat specific. For instance, gestational surrogacy is permitted for married couples who need to file Petitions for Affirmation of Parental Status.

Moreover, intended parents may also do surrogacy in the Sunshine State through preplanned adoptions or by filing maternity or paternity petitions. Additionally, traditional surrogacy is allowed and available to any potential parent. It’s important to note, however, that the surrogate can revoke her consent up to two days after giving birth.  International Surrogacy Center does not work with traditional surrogacies.

PROCESS FOR BECOMING AN INTENDED PARENT

Congratulations on deciding to grow your family via surrogacy. Once you’re accepted into the International Surrogacy Center’s program, here is what you can expect. First, our surrogacy Florida consultants will provide you with a presentation of our agency. This includes information about next steps, recommendations for clinics, and more. Then, we’ll match you with potential surrogates who you can meet in person or via video call. Once both parties agree to the process, you are considered matched.

After various examinations of the surrogate and the purchasing of health insurance for your baby, both parties sign a contract. If the surrogate is comfortable, the intended parents can be present during the child’s delivery. Finally, you can apply for your child’s birth certificate and passport and begin your new life as a family.
